Effective Leadership

The story is told that for a leader to build their team you will need to make the mission the main thing.  Hire tough so you can manage easy, promote the right ones, for the right reasons and go for the diversity advantage.  Plan your work, work your plan and make the most of what you have.  Open your ears to participation, pay attention to how you’re perceived and walk a mile in your team’s shoes.

Help everyone accept the reality of change, remember the customer is really in charge and teach “the business” of the business.

Help your team to see the difference they make, do right by those who do right and expand the reinforcement possibilities.  Confront performance problems early, mentor the majority in the middle and don’t forget the superstars.

If you can accomplish this, you will be Effective!

  1. In my opinion, it's quite hard to be an effective leader, because every person has different thoughts about something and someone can just start commenting out of a sudden without real reason.
I've learned about this at Toronto team building camp and I also found out what makes a good leader... I love that I can learn new things about this subject over and over again.

    1. You are quite right. To be an effective leader is very difficult. The main key is that you listen with empathy and understand what your followers are really looking for. Thanks you for comment.
